Adjudicators

Under Section 8 of the CCA 2013 the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform is required to appoint members of a panel to act as adjudicators. Dr. Nael Bunni was appointed Chairperson in July 2015 and the panel of adjudicators was announced on the 15th January 2016. Its members are appointed for a period of five years. The full list can be reviewed at (http://www.irisoifigiuil.ie/currentissues/IR150116-2.pdf). From time to time the Minister can add other persons to the panel of adjudicators.

It is expected that other professional bodies in the contruction industry will also propose panels of adjudicators. The parties to a construction payment dispute are free to agree the adjudicator who will adjudicate their dispute and, failing agreement, an adjudicator is appointed from the Government panel.
